Get ready, Kickstarters! Funding new projects is now easier than ever as an official Kickstarter app launches for the iPhone/iPod touch.
Available for free, the app has two main purposes. Firstly, it provides information on each current Kickstarter project including videos, the number of backers, and how much money has been raised so far. More importantly, users can back projects directly from the app.
Secondly, the Kickstarter app helps project creators stay connected with backers while on the go. Creators can also use the app to publish project updates.
Projects are arranged in the same way as they are on the Kickstarter website, via categories, Editor’s picks, and more. In addition, users are able to star projects that interest them the most.
As someone who has backed Kickstarter projects, the arrival of an official app is great news. Not only will it make it easier for me to read status reports for projects that I’ve backed, but also I can now fund other projects no matter where I am.
