If Apple wants to have the iPhone 5S in our hands by September or October, they need to already be making them. And according to a new report, they are… and we have some details on the exact specs, as well as some pictures of the iPhone 5S in manufacturing.
The report comes from Chinese site EXPreview, and claims that the iPhone 5S will be getting a fairly beefy upgrade.
The iPhone 5S is still using Swift dual-core architecture, but will boast improved graphics: the original three core PowerVR SGX543MP3 GPU will be upgraded to a quad-core PowerVR SGX 554MP4. RAM will double to 2GB, and there will be a new 12MP camera, dual LED light fill, and support for LTE-Advance, as well a fingerprint sensor. There’s also tell of NFC technology.
Not bad, but of course, none of the images confirm any of that, and none of this is official until Apple makes it so. But the 5S is still sounding like a pretty impressive update. Not that you’d expect anything less.
