iPhone X Plus rendering via iDrop News
Over the weekend leaked images of screens and digitizers supposed to be of the rumored upcoming 5.6-inch the so-called iPhone X Plus, the two photos have been shared in the MaX forum, the poster claimed the parts came from a “trial run of production equipment” at LG’s facilities in Vietnam.
The first image composed a person's hand holding a single digitizer, the background suggest that it is a workshop environment, the size of the digitizer appears certainty larger than current iPhone X and this larger-size also exceeded to the notch relatively related to overall screen size, the large size of the notch contradict with the earlier rumors that claimed the next iPhone X could have a smaller notch, assuming the validity of the rumors it isn't necessary to expect notch-to display proportions to be the same between the next iPhone X generation.
The digitizer has a flex cable fixed on it at the bottom it seems to be prepared to connect to the iPhone’s logic board, on the cable appears a set of numbers similar to the format usually used by Apple.
There is also a printed date code on the flex cable mention to a production date which is the 46th week of 2017 translating to mid-November, that means it's not a recent part considering the time could be there between digitizer production and other parts to incorporate them into a full display assembly
The second image shows a dedicated tray with four display assembly components laid on it, their size is also bigger than corresponding iPhone X, this induction is outstanding from relative size of the small earpiece slot which is visible on one of the parts, the rear design of the part is resemble the iPhone X display assembly but not at the extent of the indication.
The photos as the aforementioned token at an LG plant in Vietnam this is consistent with recent rumors which claimed that Apple invested billions of dollars to help LG to increase its OLED display production which will be oriented to so-called iPhone X Plus. Samsung is the lonely company is supplying iPhone X OLED screen, now with this diversity, Apple will be more flexible and not depend on Samsung solely.
Up to now, rumors have mentioned that around usual September time frame will be there three new iPhone versions: second-generation iPhone X with the same OLED 5.8-inch display size, a larger iPhone X Plus with 6.5-inch OLED display and the lower-cost one with 6.1-inch LCD display which will also keep the same slim-bezels design and Face ID.
A later Bloomberg report confirmed that Apple will release three iPhones this year with the potential to implement dual-sim card in the larger one (iPhone X Plus 6.5-inch) to make it easier for people to switch career when travelling, the report also mentioned that there are some prototypes of the device feature a screen resolution of 1242 x 2688, one of two higher-end devices could be available in gold, the two iPhones will be powered by A12 processors.
