Spotted by a user on Reddit, Facebook seemingly is testing a Dark Mode on its Messenger app, to enable the dark interface in the Facebook Messenger app, it is implemented such a turnaround way, Apple is rumored to apply a long-awaited Dark Mode on its upcoming iOS, iOS 13, and Facebook should look forward to following.
By default there is no setting option enables you to apply the dark interface, but alternatively what you should do is:
Now you can head into Messenger settings to switch the toggle on to activate the new Dark Mode feature. The Facebook Messenger’s Dark Mode is a real black, it looks pretty nice on the OLED display like on the iPhone X and iPhone XS, unlike some other Dark Mode app interfaces that are dark gray.
Apple last year added a system-wide Dark Mode in the macOS Mojave and many Mac's apps have added the feature after that. Earlier this year a report from Bloomberg claimed that Apple will add a desiring and long-awaited Dark Mode to the upcoming iOS 13, which Apple is going to preview at its WWDC in June.

- To go to a Messenger thread and send someone a🌙moon emoji or just send it to yourself.
- Once the moon emoji is sent tap on it in the chat thread.
- A pop app should appear tells you that “you found Dark Mode.”
- Go to Settings you will find the Dark Mode option added there.
- If such a message doesn't appear when you tap the emoji, you have to close the Facebook Messenger app and relaunch it and tap the Moon emoji again, then you will see the Dark Mode message.
