Iod 12 adoption rates pie chart

iOS 11 is occupying 40 percent on devices released in the last four years, and 7 percent are running earlier iOS versions, the iOS 11 adoption rate on all devices don't differ a lot, which is 39 percent, and older iOS versions are running on 11 percent of devices.

A week ago before this Apple statistics analytics site, Mixpanel also hovered over these rates, has suggested around 46 percent of devices were running iOS 12.

Looking backward at the same period of time last year, in early October of 2017, the adoption rates of iOS 11 were lower, it installed just on 38.5 percent of devices. To achieve 50 percent of adoption it took iOS 11 until early November, these numbers based on Apple’s statistics.

Returning to 2016 when iOS 10 was released the adoption rates are in line with iOS 12 rates, the iOS 10 on October 11, 2016, was installed on 54 percent of devices.

Apple focused more on stability and how to make its devices working faster in iOS 12 given these reasons, users choose to install the new update at more rapid pace, with iOS 12 the older iPhones and iPads become more speeding and responsive.

If we look at the iPhone 6 Plus as an example, to open the camera from Lock screen now in iOS 12 can be done 70 percent faster, to launch apps up to 40 percent faster, it took for the keyboard to show off up to 50 percent faster.

The animations in iOS 12 are smoother and more responsive in the whole operating aspects, so to trigger Control Center, scrolling apps, swiping up through multitasking become more seamless.

iOS 12 has optimizations to manage the operating system when it is under load, share sheet and apps launch are up to twice faster under heavy load.

In the coming days the iOS 12 adoption rates will see a decent bump especially with the release of iOS 12.1 which is being beta tested, the upcoming update will include eSIM functionality on the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, new emojis, and Group FaceTime a feature that was pulled in beta phase before the iOS 12 launch.
