A report from Sensor Tower shared on Monday by TechCrunch revealed that average iPhone users in the U.S spent $79 on the App Store.


The $79 revenue generated by per active U.S iPhone grew by 36 percent year over year, in 2017 the average spent per iPhone was $58, iPhone customers in 2018 spent about $21 more in App Store including paid downloading and in-app purchases.

The mainstreaming growth is from mobile gaming with about 56 percent ($44) of $79 total average U.S iPhone users spent in App Store.

Other categories also saw quite a lot of spending such as entertainment with the growth jumped about 82 percent, music, and social networking by about 22 percent, and lifestyle spending increased by 86 percent year over year in 2018.

Sensor Tower attributed these spending improvements to the growth of subscription apps, especially in non-fame categories.

Apple services section include many services such as iCloud, Apple Music, Apple Pay, and Apple Care, but the App Store remains the major revenue driver for Apple, on New Year's day the customers spent $322 million in the App Store, hitting a new single-day record.

iPhone users spent more than $1.22 billion in the App Store over the holidays period including Christmas and New Year's day.

Apple has already a strategy to grow its overall services revenue, regarding the App Store, for example, it is encouraging developers to offer a subscription model instead of one-time payment.
