Last Friday the Japanese blog Mac Otakara shared new information about the next iPhone XS Max, and possibly iPhone XS that will have triple-lens rear camera system dwelling in a square bump as we find in the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, the blog citing this information from Chinese suppliers, the report also includes few renders of what the new design could look like.

Earlier, well-known phone leaker, on Twitter OnLeaks, posted renders similar to these ones, he also expected one of 2019 iPhone to have a triple-lens rear camera system, one difference, the camera lenses alignment in the Mac Otakara render, which are symmetrical, vary with OnLeaks render below where the lenses are triangular configuration.

In January, a report from The Wall Street Journal claimed that the only next iPhone XS Max will feature a triple-lens camera, while the next iPhone XS and iPhone XR will have dual-lens rear camera, but Mac Otakara report says there is a high possibility of triple-lens camera to be on both next models, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XS.

Apple is preparing official iPhone cases with “large holes” on the back probably for the square bump according to Mac Otakara sources.

The well-connected Ming-Chi Kuo and Mark Gurman among other sources have backed up the triple-lens rear camera rumors, Android smartphone makers have already adopted triple-lens camera on its flagship phones like Samsung and Huawei, iPhones with a triple-lens rear camera will enhance many features such as 3x optical zoom, and improved 3D sensing.

2019 iPhone lineup is expected to be the same with 5.8-inch, 6.1-inch, and 6.5-inch displays, with earlier rumors, have claimed to feature a larger battery, an upgraded A13 chip, frosted glass casing, and bilateral charging of other devices like AirPods.
