In 2017 District Judge William Conley fined Apple for $506 million to Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation for using its patents related to computer processor technology in Apple’s A7, A8, and A8X chips. the amount was augmented from $244 million that the Conley had ordered at the beginning of the lawsuit in 2015.
Apple has managed to persuade a federal appeals court to throw out part of the lawsuit at least $243 million in damages, according to a today report from Reuters.

Based on the evidence that was presented in the liability phase at the trial in 2015 no reasonable juror could find infringement leading to its decision according to the U.S Federal Circuit Court, adding, it’s unclear why the original $234 million awards have been applied, the extent amount has not been mentioned that being thrown out.
Apple Inc persuaded a federal appeals court on Friday to throw out a $234 million damages award in favor of the University of Wisconsin’s patent licensing arm for infringing the school’s patent on computer processing technology.
