Qualcomm seeking to block the iPhone imports will not go to be implemented in the ongoing legal battle with Apple as The United States International Trade Commission decide, according to the new Reuters report.
Allegedly, giving many patents violations Qualcomm had requested ITC to ban imports of AT&T and T-Mobile iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X models that use Intel’s chips.
The ban will not include the iPhones with Qualcomm LTE chips as the company trying to put on the ground which means just a small iPhone portion could likely be excluded.
The main reason behind the ITC decision is “public interest factor” as the ITC judge said on last Friday, despite Apple iPhones infringe on a patent related to power management technology the iPhone ban will not take the place.
The two companies didn’t comment on this ITC decision as of yet, but this may be considered a major victory for Apple in months-long legal battle with Qualcomm.
Qualcomm and Apple have involved in intense legal issues back to January 2017 these legal conflicts take an ascending trend, the two companies filed several lawsuits against one another since then.
Qualcomm has overcharged unfair royalties for ”technologies they have nothing to do with” as Apple claimed, on the other side Qualcomm alleged that its inventions form the “very core" of high edge mobile communications.
On The heels of the new the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max launch last week Qualcomm boosted the dispute by accusing Apple of proving confidential trade information and trade secrets stolen from it to its rival Intel.
