iPhone dark mode concept

Apple next major iOS update iOS 13, which is expected to be unveiled at WWDC in June, new details about it have been shared by 9to5Mac’s Guilherme Rambo with the help of the developer Steve Troughton-Smith, the reporter cites sources familiar with the matter.

As earlier reports about upcoming iOS 13 features, this one also claimed that the long-awaited system-wide Dark Mode will be included in the update for iPhone and iPad.
There will be a system-wide Dark Mode that can be enabled in Settings, including a high contrast version, similar to what's already available on macOS. Speaking of macOS, iPad apps that run on the Mac using Marzipan will finally take advantage of the Dark Mode support on both systems.
iPad with iOS 13 is expected to feature improved multitasking, supporting multiple windows and stackable cards in apps.
Each window will also be able to contain sheets that are initially attached to a portion of the screen, but can be detached with a drag gesture, becoming a card that can be moved around freely, similar to what an open-source project called "PanelKit" could do.

These cards can also be stacked on top of each other, and use a depth effect to indicate which cards are on top and which are on the bottom. Cards can be flung away to dismiss them.
iOS 13 will include another one desired feature that iPhone users have been wished to be tweaked is volume HUD, which will hopefully be less obtrusive than the current one, as earlier this year Apple’s software engineering chief Craig Federighi mentioned to that in an email to a customer.
Undo for text input will be changed in the iPad, instead of standard check-to-undo, the report claimed that undo on iOS 13 will be by a new gesture initiated with a three-finger tap on the keyboard area, enabling users to slide left or right to undo or redo interactively.

iPad is also expected to receive additional gestures on iOS 13 that enable users to select multiple items in table views and collection views. Users will be allowed to "drag with multiple fingers on a list or collection of items to draw a selection, similar to clicking and dragging in Finder on the Mac."

The report added that Safari for iPad on iOS 13 will automatically offer a desktop version of websites when required, while the Mail app will order the messages into searchable categories such as marketing, travel, “not important”, and more, the new Mail version app is also claimed to feature “read later” queue.

Font management on iOS 13 is also expected to see improvements, with a dedicated font management menu accessed through Settling app.

According to 9to5Mac other features are expected including improved “Hey Siri” canceling ambient noises such as crying babies and laugher, a redesigned Reminder app that extends to the Mac, in-app printing controls, and improved multilingual support for keyboard and dictation.
